PDF preflight workspace

Up to 12 PDFs, 25 MB each. Files stay in your browser. The analyzer extracts metadata and document features but does not modify files.

Automated warning-level inspection only. PDF/A conformance requires validation of output intents, color spaces, XMP, embedded fonts and many other rules; PDF/UA requires thorough structural and semantic checks. This tool does not certify either standard and does not create PDF/A files.

What a PDF/A and PDF/UA preflight can detect

PDF/A is a family of ISO archival document formats, and PDF/UA addresses accessibility. This local inspector uses PDF.js to read PDF metadata, page count, text extraction and structure-tree hints. It also scans portions of PDF source data for identifiers, encryption and script markers, and produces human-readable diagnostics for follow-up testing.

Why this is not certified PDF/A or PDF/UA validation

Neither the presence of tags nor an XMP identifier proves actual standard conformance. Robust PDF/A validation covers embedded fonts, ICC output intents, transparency, color management, annotations, embedded files and conformance-level rules. PDF/UA requires correct semantics, reading order, alternative text, form labels, language and assistive technology evaluation. This preflight is informational, not a compliance certificate.

Bulk audit and export reports

Process up to twelve PDFs locally and download CSV or JSON findings. Use the outputs to prioritize remediation, then validate corrected documents with specialist standard-aware tools such as veraPDF for PDF/A and appropriate PDF accessibility validators.

Frequently asked questions

Can this tool convert PDF into certified PDF/A?

No. It provides preliminary diagnostic checks only. Conversion and conformance certification require dedicated standards-compliant processing and validation.

Does tagged PDF automatically mean PDF/UA compliant?

No. Tags alone do not prove correct semantics, reading order or required alternate descriptions.

Does the inspector upload my document?

No. PDF bytes are analyzed locally in a browser with the PDF.js library.
