PDF to Editable Word & OCR Studio
Convert scanned or text-based PDFs into editable DOCX text with selectable text detection, 180–400 DPI OCR, adaptive contrast enhancement, configurable page-layout recognition and detailed warnings. Complex diagrams/tables still require verification and manual reconstruction.
Convert PDF to editable Word and OCR scanned pages
When selectable text exists, the converter extracts PDF text using PDF.js and groups it into Word paragraphs. Scanned pages can be rasterized at up to 400 DPI and recognized with Tesseract.js using adjustable segmentation and contrast preprocessing. Recognition confidence and warnings support human verification. Export Word files individually or in a ZIP batch.
Accuracy and layout limitations
PDF visual positioning does not encode Word paragraph, table and heading semantics reliably. Consequently, the tool prioritizes editable text and reasonable reading order rather than guaranteeing original layout preservation. OCR accuracy depends on scan quality, language data and small print. Review the final Word document before distribution.

FAQ
Can I edit the result in Word?
Yes, extracted or recognized text becomes actual editable DOCX paragraphs.
Does it accurately reproduce every complex page?
No. OCR text recognition, tables, diagrams and multi-column reading order can be imperfect. The downloaded DOCX contains editable text, not a pixel-perfect conversion of the source layout.
Does OCR need the internet?
Initial OCR language data and libraries are downloaded, then the document itself is processed locally in the browser.
Scanned PDF OCR accuracy: the factors that matter
Optical character recognition (OCR) identifies letters in a rendered image; it does not automatically recover original Word tables, fonts, paragraph hierarchy or diagrams. Choose Auto for pages with missing selectable text and Force OCR for corrupted embedded text. Start around 300 DPI for legible scans, with 400 DPI useful for some small print on capable desktops. Better scans, proper deskew and correct recognition language are often more valuable than extreme filter settings.
Editable DOCX vs searchable PDF
The output here is a real Office Open XML DOCX with editable text paragraphs, not a renamed scan. Its original PDF visual layout may require reconstruction in Word. Compare critical amounts, names and formulas with the source; if OCR confidence is low, do not use the file for legal or financial decisions without reviewing it.
