THE WORKFLOW, EXPLAINED

How to resize video for Instagram

Resolution sets the number of pixels, while aspect ratio sets the canvas proportions. ‘Fit’ shows the complete video with empty areas; ‘Fill’ crops the edges. Choose the correct mode based on subject framing and placement safety.

  1. Choose a video and inspect its original dimensions.
  2. Select a target preset, fit or fill behavior, backdrop and export quality.
  3. Review the image framing, render and inspect the new video on a phone.

Video size has two different meanings

Resolution sets the number of pixels, while aspect ratio sets the canvas proportions. ‘Fit’ shows the complete video with empty areas; ‘Fill’ crops the edges. Choose the correct mode based on subject framing and placement safety. This workspace uses browser-local media codecs for output creation. First-time processing may require downloading a sizable WebAssembly engine; conversion speed, available encoders and supported formats depend on the device, source file and browser. Review the exported video or audio before relying on it professionally.
