How to use GIF Resizer

Resize animated GIF dimensions without flattening the animation. Adjust width, height and palette quality for batch output.

  1. Choose one or more compatible files using the drag-and-drop upload area.
  2. Adjust the settings shown for this specific conversion workflow.
  3. Select Convert Files, then inspect progress, results and file-size feedback.
  4. Download each completed file or download all successful results as a ZIP.

What does this tool do?

Each decoded animation frame is scaled onto a new GIF canvas. Source timing is retained while pixel dimensions and palette may change.

Example: A 600×400 animated GIF can be converted to 300×200, retaining its animated timeline.

Inputs are limited to 12 files, 25 MB per file and 100 MB combined, with additional format-specific limits. The conversion may change or omit source metadata. Save original files and verify consequential output in a compatible application.

Frequently asked questions

Will resizing remove animation?

No. Supported animated GIF frames are recomposed and re-encoded, not saved as a static first frame.

Can I preserve aspect ratio?

Set width and height proportionally. Non-proportional settings may stretch the original.

What are size limitations?

Output is limited to 1.2 megapixels per frame and 100 frames per source.

Is GIF quality lossless?

No. Palette quantization can change colors after re-encoding.

Privacy, performance and compatibility

This free tool processes selected files locally in your browser. Required third-party code libraries are downloaded from content delivery networks, which may receive normal connection metadata, but uploaded source files are not sent to a Solvory conversion server by this utility. Browser codecs, available device memory and file complexity determine what can be processed. Unsupported formats show an error.
