What is Searchable PDF OCR Maker?

Turn image-only PDF scans into text-searchable PDFs with a separate text transcript. Choose page ranges, rendering DPI and an OCR language model. This Solvory Tools workspace focuses on verifiable file outputs and transparent limitations, not a simulated converter preview. Input files are processed in the web browser after any required code libraries have loaded.

How to use Searchable PDF OCR Maker

  1. Upload scanned PDFs (up to 5 at a time).
  2. Select pages, DPI and language code; the OCR library downloads language data when needed.
  3. Run OCR, download the searchable PDF and plain-text transcript; manually check every recognized word.

How processing works

Renders source pages to images, recognizes printed words using Tesseract OCR and places an invisible word overlay. Recognition is approximate and formatting can differ.

Privacy, limitations and accuracy

Maximum 12 pages per input PDF, 5 PDFs per batch and 40 MB per file. Language models download from external CDNs; all selected files are processed in your browser. OCR quality varies with clarity, orientation and handwriting.

*File content is not uploaded to Solvory’s server by this page’s client-side processing code. Third-party CDN dependencies and OCR language models may be downloaded. Browser memory, available features, formats and internet restrictions still apply. Always inspect generated files before production or legal reliance.

Frequently asked questions

Can OCR read handwritten text?

Handwriting is not reliably recognized. Use clean printed documents for better results.

Will it preserve original searchable text?

Output is a raster-page copy with attempted OCR overlays. It may be larger and original bookmarks/forms are not preserved.
