How to use JSON Diff Checker
Compare two JSON documents and spot added, removed and changed properties with machine-readable export.
- Paste valid original JSON in the left input and updated JSON in the right input.
- Generate results to inspect each JSON Pointer path and the before/after value.
- Copy individual differences or export the entire difference report as CSV. In Bulk mode, enter newline-delimited JSON objects containing left and right values to compare up to 100 document pairs.
Worked example
Compare objects where version changes from 1 to 2, or where features gains a new array item. The tool highlights paths such as /version or /features/2.
How the tool works and its limitations
Both documents are parsed with JSON.parse, then traversed recursively. Objects are compared by property keys, and arrays by numeric index. JSON Pointer escape rules are used for property names containing slashes or tildes. The output is limited to 1,000 differences for readability.
Frequently asked questions
Does this detect reordered array elements?
Arrays are compared by index, not semantic item identity. Reordering may create multiple change records.
Is JSON syntax validated?
Yes. Invalid JSON triggers a parsing error; both documents must be valid.
Can I share a diff?
Export the CSV report or copy individual changes. Data remains in your browser.
Privacy, compatibility and safety
Computations run locally using browser JavaScript. The tool does not intentionally send input data or uploaded file contents to Solvory’s servers. Modern browser APIs, JavaScript support and available device memory affect compatibility and batch size. Inspect the output before using it for critical professional work.
