How to use UTC to EST / EDT Converter

DST-aware UTC to New York time conversion with historical and future dates and convenient bulk timestamp processing.

  1. Enter a precise UTC date and time using YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm or HH:mm:ss.
  2. Use Bulk mode for lists of UTC datetimes, one per line.
  3. Read the corresponding New York local time, daylight-saving abbreviation and UTC ISO value.

Worked example

Enter 2026-11-01 05:30 UTC, then 2026-11-01 06:30 UTC in bulk. Both fall within the daylight-saving transition and may display the repeated local clock hour with different labels.

How the tool works and its limitations

The converter uses the browser’s Intl.DateTimeFormat and America/New_York time zone rules. Eastern Standard Time (EST) is UTC−5, while Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is UTC−4. This is a conversion of UTC instants, not an inference from ambiguous local wall-clock times.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tool automatically switch between EST and EDT?

Yes. The browser’s built-in New York time zone database determines which offset applies to that instant.

Which input time zone should I enter?

UTC only. Values typed as New York local times would need a different conversion, especially near DST changes.

Does it work for many times?

Yes. Paste UTC timestamps line by line and export the results as CSV.

Privacy, compatibility and safety

Computations run locally using browser JavaScript. The tool does not intentionally send input data or uploaded file contents to Solvory’s servers. Modern browser APIs, JavaScript support and available device memory affect compatibility and batch size. Inspect the output before using it for critical professional work.
