How to use Recipe Converter & Scaler
Scale recipe ingredients from one serving count to another, with mixed fractions and precise compatible measurement-unit conversion.
- Enter the required values or paste text into the interactive workspace.
- Adjust available precision, format, unit or bulk settings as needed.
- Run the calculator or generator and review all output information.
- Download the resulting file or CSV summary; batch outputs can be downloaded as ZIP where available.
How the tool works
Quantities are multiplied by desired servings divided by original servings. Volume and weight conversions remain separate unless the ingredient density is known.
Example: A recipe for four servings with 2 cups flour and 3 eggs scaled to eight servings yields 4 cups flour and 6 eggs.
Technical limits: tool-specific validation protects browser memory, input parsing and export reliability. Certain file types or uncommon data may be rejected. Always check important financial results or fabrication files using their original records and professional software.
Frequently asked questions
Can you convert cups of flour to grams accurately?
Not without knowing the flour type and measuring method. This calculator does not invent ingredient densities.
Are mixed fractions supported?
Yes. Enter quantities such as 1 1/2 or 3/4 in the ingredient list.
Does it support US cups?
Yes. Cup, teaspoon and tablespoon conversions use US customary volumes.
Can I export the scaled recipe?
Yes. Download an editable CSV of ingredient names, quantities and units.
