What is EXIF Metadata Cleaner?
Batch strip image EXIF and common XMP signatures by rebuilding static JPEG, PNG or WebP pixels. Download cleaned images with a comparison report. This Solvory Tools workspace focuses on verifiable file outputs and transparent limitations, not a simulated converter preview. Input files are processed in the web browser after any required code libraries have loaded.
How to use EXIF Metadata Cleaner
- Add static JPEG, PNG or WebP photos (up to 24).
- Choose output format and lossy quality where relevant.
- Generate the cleaned images and verify the before/after privacy report.
How processing works
Decodes image pixels in the browser and re-encodes them into a fresh image without copying original EXIF/XMP chunks. Checks common metadata signatures in output bytes.
Privacy, limitations and accuracy
Only static images are supported. GPS can still be inferred from visual scene content. Re-encoding may alter colors or size; EXIF orientation is applied by browser image decoding.
*File content is not uploaded to Solvory’s server by this page’s client-side processing code. Third-party CDN dependencies and OCR language models may be downloaded. Browser memory, available features, formats and internet restrictions still apply. Always inspect generated files before production or legal reliance.
Frequently asked questions
Does it remove GPS coordinates from EXIF?
Fresh images are produced without copying EXIF chunks, including GPS tags when carried there. Export is blocked if common EXIF/XMP signatures remain.
Does it remove faces or location clues?
No. It does not erase visible content or obscure recognizable locations and people.
