What is PDF Redaction & Sanitizer?

Permanently burn visual redaction zones into a newly rasterized PDF instead of adding superficial black overlays. Remove the original text layer, annotations, forms and source metadata. This Solvory Tools workspace focuses on verifiable file outputs and transparent limitations, not a simulated converter preview. Input files are processed in the web browser after any required code libraries have loaded.

How to use PDF Redaction & Sanitizer

Upload one PDF and select the page in the preview.
Drag black rectangles over every sensitive area on every relevant page.
Generate a sanitized raster-only PDF and inspect all pages in a separate viewer before sharing.

How processing works

Each original page is rasterized, marked with solid black pixels and embedded as a fresh image-only page in a new PDF. Source content objects and annotations are never copied. An output self-check confirms no PDF text objects remain.

Privacy, limitations and accuracy

This method sacrifices selectable text, bookmarks, forms and links; output may be larger. No automatic find-and-redact is provided. Embedded personal details outside chosen rectangles remain visible. Maximum 45 pages and 1 PDF per operation.

*File content is not uploaded to Solvory’s server by this page’s client-side processing code. Third-party CDN dependencies and OCR language models may be downloaded. Browser memory, available features, formats and internet restrictions still apply. Always inspect generated files before production or legal reliance.

Frequently asked questions

Is drawing a black rectangle on the original PDF sufficient?

No. Merely overlaying black artwork can leave hidden text in the file. This exporter rebuilds the PDF from masked raster pages instead.

Is this legally certified sanitization?

No legal compliance certification is provided. Review the final exported document page by page and use professional tools for regulated disclosure workflows.
